It's always good to hear good news from Jason Becker.
Please tell him he has huge fans here in Brazil (me first!).

Also... is this blue Carvin THAT blue Carvin ???
The one he plays Serrana on that famous video?
So it's full scallopped?

Yup it's THE Blue Carvin

No it's not scalloped, its just that flame maple fretboard and the sunlight that make it look like it is. And I sure will tell him that he has much love from Brazil!

It's one of his "Numbers" guitar, I think it's a Peavey (anothere "Numbers" guitar was an Ibanez :P). Now that guitar also has a Stephen Colbert for President sticker

That's awesome he's likes colbert! Good to hear he's doing well too. Really they were going to make a movie? Doesn't sound like a bad idea, he has the sort of story you see in the movies...

But yeah Jason Becker is one of the greatest people to grace this earth. Not only a virtuoistic talent but just one the coolest and most open people ever. I've seen a lot of interviews he's done and he's always just a cool funny guy despite having such a debilitating disease as ALS. He's not only an inspiration to us musicians but also to very many people who also suffer from ALS.

Not just to musicians or ALS sufferers, but to all. When I think of everything he has overcome it makes me think that most problems that people have are so insignificant. I dont know if I would ever be as strong as him, but knowing that he has not let this horrendous disease beat him is such an inspiration.

Opus Pocus is my favorite Becker tune, my son and I listen to that all the time. He knows which track on the cd it is...It always brings a tear and a smile to me.

Perpetual Burn was so important to me when it came out I was awed by it's brilliance...The drum sound was marvelous, and listening to it I always felt, what a great guy Jason must be...His phrasing and sense of intricate and unusual melody were what fascinated me most!
