Keneally and Donati

What really happened with vai and keneally/vai and donati. I thought that these people were great musicians and i am just curious to see if they had a fallout or something. I have to admit i love the energy of the new drummer and TMAC is the bomb. But i mean you gotta wonder what happened to Keneally and Donati.

I've said this elsewhere but having Keneally play someone else's parts at someone else's gig is like caging a beautiful exotic bird and leaving it in the basement in the dark. He has his own brilliant career to tend to and as great as it was to see him play with Vai, he's of much greater use to himself and the world in general when he plays his own stuff. It's like if Vai got a job playing rhythm guitar for Anastasia.

Similar situation with Virgil. Neither of these guys can really just join a band and stay there - they have their own careers.
