Maybe it was the LP he was playing? Twas pretty sloppy for a dude who's probably played that a gazillion times.

Noel is crap at guitar (even he admits it) but he can write songs that sell. End of story.

NOW THIS SOLO in the intro is just plain out terrible.. YIKES
I hope for Kirk's sake that the guitar was seriously out of tune.

His chops seem to come and go as fast and as often as Lars' hairline.

Re: Kirk Hammett good guitarist or hiding behind the wah

I don't know what to think anymore - back in the day I enjoyed some of his solos (though the best ones were James'), now that I don't really listen to Metallica (or much rock for that matter), it all sounds painful to me. The problem is that I don't know whether Kirk sounded better then, or did it just sound better to me back then...Either way, I'd rather stay away from Kirk's playing these days.

Technically last 20 years started in 1986, so that could be right.

I heard a bunch of 16 year olds play better than this last weekend and the sad thing is, I'm not kidding.

I think the guy just doesn't practice anymore. You know, like he plays 52 billion shows a year with Metallica and probably thinks that that's enough or that he is KIRK HAMMETT GODAMNIT! and that he doesn't need to practice. I really didn't have time for Metallica after Load, sad but true (no pun intended.)

lol check out James's face when Kirk screws up the solo, he's like "That's not me is it? Kirk, that's bad..."

Now the upsetting thing is when i saw them live about 3 months ago the quality was even worse than this right here. It completely ruined what i thought about the band. Massive sound issues and sloppy playing on kirks part. Just unpleasent. Completely outclassed by most of there opening acts.

my 2 cents.
