Oh snap, I'm a bad guitarist. Woe is me.
Now let me go and play my little book of 3 chord hits.
I guess at least I'd be better than
Kirk Hammett
.

Me, i'm an ace guitarist. I know 4 chords now. I was learning a new song yesterday and some cheeky bugger went and threw a supended 4th in there somewhere. I almost had kittens.
I for sure must be in the running to replace Kirk if he ever leaves or is booted out.

Re: Kirk Hammett good guitarist or hiding behind the wah
Ya reckon?
I'm thinking of tackling the next big step; Learning a scale that consists of more than 5 notes. Crazy i know, but if i really want that metallica gig...
(you can tell i'm stuck at work with nothing to do.)
This guy had lessons with
Joe Satriani
right?. How did a little of Joes talent/knowledge not find it's way into Kirk's playing? Boggles the mind.

I think if you want to play with Metallica you need a metal bolt through your penis and wear dinnerladies hair-net.
(seriously, why the hell did he used to wear that thing? and more to the point, why did Kerrang magazine ever publish those nudie shower shots of him? Since then, you'll never see me go for the chipolatas at a buffet...)
