KISS Alive IV

Has anybody heard this??, it's been out for almost 2 weeks now, is it good, or are the other Alives better than this one??

I'm curious to know how do their classics sound with an orchestra (the whole orchestra dressed in full KISS makeup BTW).

I kind of like it. The first set on CD number 1, without the orchestra, sounds really good. I think I would have enjoyed a whole live album with this lineup. Tommy Thayer isn't just wearing Aces' makeup, he's doing Ace's parts note for note. Not creative at all, but it sounds good, and he's a good player.

The parts with the orchestra sound good, but the orchestra is mixed a bit low, and on the very loud numbers it sounds kind of wimpy, with strings wandering in and out. On the slower, quieter songs it sounds great.

The event was filmed for a DVD, and I think it will work better with the visual of seeing the whole experience, but I'm pretty happy with the CD.

Overall I like it better than Alive III, which I also liked, but not as much as Alive and Alive II.

kissonline.com just says "...and will be released as a DVD, in the future."

No release date mentioned, and I haven't seen it listed anywhere for preorders.
