Yeah, I thought he was quite good. Not bad, sung a U2 number on that show if I remember. I still think Kelly had a better voice, but it has been done a million times over I suppose.

That "World Idol" show over here in the UK was known as like the biggest flop ever. Hardly anyone watched it apparently.

But Kirt must be doin alright out of it!

I dont see any Kirk in my post now. It reads Kirt. Amazing that!
I think from now on I may just call him Hobbit. Then everyone knows what I am on about, and I dont get mixed up with typing Kirk!

Well he's popular among 13 year old girls but that's about it. There was a bit of a scandal within the industry (which the general public doesn't know about) because he was certified platinum and blah blah, but it turns out the platinum certification was awarded on albums shipped to stores, not sold to customers. There was rack upon rack upon rack of unsold CDs littering the shelves and now they're probably in a landfill somewhere. But he got to do Pepsi ads and make a bunch of money so I'm sure he's happy.

Exactly - so if we go into the "bargain bin" section in a australian CD store, we likely to find a few copies of his CD!
Gareth Gates has had a similar flop over here. Will Young is still doing very well though. I just dont think its what people are listening to nowadays.
