Marco Sfogli -- BADASS!

Anyone know this guy's playing? He is an Italian guitarist who I only discovered quite recently through listening to Alex Argento's album "Ego" (brilliant fusion release from 2007), and I was mighty impressed with that album from start to finish. Marco BURNS on there. He is also releasing his solo album soon, and he was James LaBrie's choice for guitarist a while back. I'm not familiar with the stuff he did with James (I can't stand DT and I don't like many vocalists). Do check him out, though. I believe this guy will be much more well-known in the future.

I definitely dont think that James' solo album is better than DT stuff at all (Scenes From A Memory...cmon now)....but Marco's playing is the best thing on the album. One of the best guitarists I've seen since Andy Timmons. Feb 15th = new album release , looking forward to buying that to hear some of Marco's solo stuff. Heres a lil clip of one of the songs:

Great guitar player but anyone agrees he sounds TOO MUCH LIKE PETRUCCI???

I wish he had found an inner voice which that was a bit more personal.

I think he's a lot better than Petrucci (sorry, John). Listening to the Alex Argento album, he sounds A LOT like Greg Howe. Check the vibrato. It's totally Greg!
