Metallica & Iron Maiden
Well this week I saw
Iron Maiden
on tuesday at the NEC and Metallica on friday at Earls Court. I'm a big fan of both bands (apart from St.anger which sucks ass) and couldn't belive i was seeing them both for the first time, and in the same week.
I heard Maiden were an excellent live band and that is the understatement of the year. They were fantastic! When eddie came on and attacked the guitarists, Janick Jers lobbing his guitar around his head and jumping round everywhere. Bruce just being a legend. It was the best live show I've ever seen.
Metallica were alright but they mesed up the first song, Blackened, well badly. It was really good but they weren't as good as Maiden. I have to admit that the st.anger stuff does sound better live, as much as it kills me to say that because I hate that album. It is good to see them playing all their old stuff though.
Anyone else see these shows and opinions?

I saw Iron Maiden in Nov 1988 (the 'Maiden England' shows) and Metallica the following Easter.
I can certainly say that back then Metallica was better than Eddie and the boys...but only just

Never seen Metallica (and at this point wouldn't really want to), but I've seen Maiden on the last 3 tours. Amazing.
