That could be because of his association with the likes of:
Eddie van Halen
Slash
Carlos Santana
Steve Lukather
Steve Stevens
Jennifer Batten
Dann Huff

I don't think he would be relevant to rock if he hadn't crossed over, by featuring well known rock musicians.

Also, Jacko would not have been played on MTV had Eddie van Halen not lent his guitar solo to "Beat It". MTV simply didn't play black artists in those days.

The question of course is, did he try to break down these barriers out of conviction, or commercial gain? Jacko's previous attempt to cross over to a white audience with the help of Paul McCartney had failed. (mostly for being sappy MOR crap)

BTW prior to Thriller, Jacko was neither pop nor rock. He was R&B, with a bit of disco and dance, but not pop. (outside of the McCartney collaboration)

What did 1 Paramedic say to the other when thumping away on MJ's chest
trying to restart his heart this morning....."Just Beat it, Beat it,
Beat it".



MJ has just died & to commemorate his musical achievements Mcdonalds
have released the "McJackson Burger".......Its a 50 year old piece of
Albino meat shoved between two 8 year old buns.



MJ on his death bed requested that his ashes be packaged into a box of
CocoPops, so he could then at least have the feeling of going through a
10yr old @ss one more time.



Did you hear about MJ's death..... apparently the hospital is unsure
what to do with the body as recycle day isn't until next Wednesday.



Now that MJ has passed it means that McCauley Caulkin has truly been
left at home alone.



The time delay in announcing MJ's death today was due to problems they
had identifying if it was Michael Jackson or Diana Ross



What does Collingwood & MJ have in common??? They are both black & white
& die mid year.



The reports on MJ having a cardiac arrest are incorrect. He actually
went to visit the children's hospital & had a stroke.



I just heard on the radio: didn't matter how young or old, Michael
Jackson touched everybody.



Michael Jackson wants to be buried at sea, preferably attached to two
buoys.

arrest not relating to children.

Time of death was when the big hand touched the little hand.

What's 8 inches long and totally useless? Front row tickets to Michael
Jackson's comeback tour.

FBI raided his house. Found class A drugs in the kitchen, class B drugs
in the bathroom, and class 5c who went missing weeks ago in his bedroom.
(possibly the best of the day)

I hear they have already done the autopsy on Michael's body and they
have ruled out sunshine, moonlight and good times and are now just
blaming it on the boogie
