Sometimes it's as simple as guys lurking until they have a reason to post. It's not like he's playing an old LP Deluxe after all. Let's not chase him off for an inelegant introduction.

I just watched your videos and to be quite honest, i am not that impressed.

It seems you have worked quite some time on techniques like sweep picking, alternate picking and tapping. Your chops are very 80's and i like it. You could tighten it up a bit more.

The thing that really concerns me is your vibrato. In my opinion your weak point. If you want to hang with the big guys like on the Dean contest, you really need to work on that.

Just watched that youtube clip. I think a "good" vibrato is subjective. To me it sounds like he bends way too much and it isn't tasteful. All the guys he mentioned that are good at it I think bend way too much. This guy just likes Zakk Wylde's vibrato and thinks that's how it should be. Vibrato shouldn't be a series of consecutive big bends. It sounds like he's raping the string... and it's common for shredders to play a million miles an hour of rambling and throw in an over the top vibrato like this and call it "phrasing". But again, it's subjective and that's just my opinion.

He is very good though... and he makes me laugh. haha

Vibrato still is technique. What technique you like is another story. That's opinion.

Yep and me there. I wouldn't normally knock somebody that is trying hard but this was 100% 'guitar-shop noodler.'

That being the case I think he deserves some constructive criticism. For me personally I think he was trying too hard to do something special and it fell flat. Maybe he should've loosened up and played something a little more 'tuneful.'
