my band needs your help.

hey everybody, weve been talking as a band, and we brainstormed some ideas to get some more rythem in our music and more of a beat....

this is kinda a poll , and we would really apprecaite it if you could give us some feed back on each idea, any and all feedback will be greately apprecaited :]

for those of you who dont know my bands without a drummer, has been for 2 years now..

heres our ideas..

Drummer- still try and try to seek out a decent drummer.

Bassist - get an extra bassist that will solely do the job of a drummer, they would stay away from normal strumming and focus on setting a rythem by raking, slapping, anything that will be loud and produce a rythem behind our instruments.

Keyboardist- to do drum beats and stuff like that.

please let us know what you think of these ideas and essentially what you think might work half way decent (try to remember weve been searching for a decent drummer for over 2 years, so we really need more feedback on the extra bassist or the keyboardist idea)

thanks everyone!

If you don't mind me throwing those options out, a drum machine would be the easiest way to solve the problem. I'm sure you and your two bandmates could all pitch in, it'd be well worth it.

we thought about that.. but kinda tossed that idea out the window because it would be like having another instument on our shoulders to write parts for and compose. how much is a drum machine btw? (i never looked into one)

nm, I just looked on musicians friend, looks like we could get one for about 200 bucks.

thats an option too I guess, like I said tho, its another part of our music we would all have to take responsibility for, it would be nice to have another person on stage too.. thats why we leaned torward the extra bassist or the keyboardist.

2 years without a drummer? That's interesting....

I don't know what style of music you guys are doing, but before I signed on another bassist or keyboardist to emulate drum parts I would definitely get a real drummer on board. OR get a drum machine as suggested above.

You really don't want to have to deal with TWO bassists in the same band, right?
