Re: my band "Wodash"

Firstly I want to congratulate you on putting a band together, keeping it together and getting it to a point where you can record and play live shows. I've spent the last 16yrs in bands and I know how hard that can be.

as far as the music goes I would suggest that you sit down and have a listen to something like 5 minutes alone. By that I mean that in the Pantera song you can hear clearly defined riffs/parts/pieces but all of them have a definate groove running through them. If your into a more Nu school approach then have a listen to Justin by Korn. That's got a quirky verse but is then tied in tight by a groovy, heavy, defined riff. Even without a drummer yourself and the bass player need to be locking into some form of groove just to give the listener a foundation.

I'm not ragging on ya man, I'm just calling it the way I see it. Anyway take it or leave it as you well know opinions are like ass holes, ....we've all got em'.

Re: my band "Wodash"

when we play all of our stuff live (practice) all of our guitar and bass rhythms fit together and musically make sense, (atleast to me) but even "I" have a hard time listening to our recordings, because they sound nothing like what we sound like when were all playing it together. it seems in our recordings my guitar lacks the choppyness it needs, it seems like its all blended together, I dont know it if its the way were recording it or what, I think it might be that my distortion on my guitar is perseived very very harshly when I record it, like recording it almost adds more distortion and unwanted noise.

over the next two weekends were focusing on recording and nothing else, ive been using cool edit 2.0 to record everything weve done so far, over the weekend im going to give Audacity a shot, im really unfamiliar with it tho, and im not even sure if I can mix several tracks down with it or not. ill have to look into it more.

thanks for your opinions, they are nothing less than greatly apprecaited and taken in a possitive way.
