My Band(Called To Arms) and our new EP
So I've been lurking on these boards for awhile, and signed up back in July. Been a real helpful board so far
My band has a new EP coming out Oct 23rd (CD Release show with advance sales this saturday the 13th hehe), so I figured id let you all hear some stuff.
As far as music and guitarwork goes the other guitarist and I enjoy everything from jazz, to queen, muse, radiohead, etc to just plain brutal metal. But I will warn that my band's music is probably not for everyone (ie screaming vocals instead of singing in this band etc).

flame/critique away!
cheers.

I'll give it a listen when I get home from work.
Give me a forewarning of what kind of screams to expect?

Your music isn't for me (yeah, I'm one of those guys). But, you certainly sound extremely tight. Good luck to you, and have fun on that journey.

Re: My Band(Called To Arms) and our new EP
I was a little surprised at what the music sounded like after seeing a clean cut picture of the band. I was expecting Weezer with those pictures LOL.

Right, cause "Eagles of
Death Metal
" sound nothing like any death metal band I have ever heard of.

Re: My Band(Called To Arms) and our new EP
thanks a lot
we used a couple different ibanez guitars. mainly a custom S series with an MIJ neck (our other guitar palyer's baby heh) and another 80s Ibanez roadstar dubbed over on the real heavy parts for an even thicker tone. Both guitars have the EMG 81/85 setup.
All the distortion is coming from a
Mesa Boogie Triple
Rectifier Head and Marshall Cab on the lead guitar / main guitar tracking with a
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
Head + Peavey 5150 Cab mixed in for some of my rhythm parts.
we also had the pleasure of recording with Jamie King (who has recorded such bands as Between the Buried and Me- who are going on tour with Dream Theater in '08 ) so we were real spoiled with the amount of knowledge and experience he brought to the table in producing the album and I think that attributed a lot to the way the album sounds overall.
