anyone besides me a fan of greg howe? i have most of his cds and feel he was a precursor to
guthrie govan, albiet much funkier and with a vocabulary that is more fusion oriented. the latest cd is a nice change of pace after the very jazz/fusion heavy 'extraction' (also excellent however). this one seems to have greg returning to a more rock style (compositionally, lead guitar tonally and phrasing), but of course there is some pretty 'outside' playing in several song. so far i'm digging it. there's an excellent cover of 'tell me something good' which i think really exemplifies the nuances of his style.
