At least you are getting two other good guitar players, the UK got Robert Fripp.

It's about time Pablo joined for a G3! I've been waiting for more East Coast tour dates since the 1st day the news was posted on Satch's site. I really don't have the time to take a trip to NY or PA, I'll just have to wait for more news.

What the heck? YOu claim to like Vai, yet you think Fripp sucks - Steve counts Fripp as one of the reasons he started on the guitar AND a major influence!

Fripp, and King Crimson are phenomenal, don't discount him because he doesn't wear spangly lurex tights, long hair and a chrome guitar - KC, and Fripp's music and ability are a goldmine you could spend an entire lifetime mining to further your own playing.

Personally, on last years G3 gig in Sydney, I would have given my eye teeth for Robert Fripp to play rather than Petrucci, who, sure, he can play, but was about as exciting as watching paint dry!

I'd go and see Fripp seven days a week if I lived in the UK!

Re: No Vai on 07 G3?

Acksherly, while we're on the subject - it's worth remembering that this is a site full of Vai fanatics - perhaps Steve feels that after being involved in the last, what, ten, twelve years of G3 gigs that people are getting bored (or in danger of getting bored) and want some variety?

I must admit, it was a great concert, but there seemed to be almost nothing new in it - Vai and Satriani's sets could almost have come off the first G3 CD!

Nice one, Dave. I'm glad someone here recognizes a good player when he hears one.
