Non-Guitar Music You Listen To

I thought it be might be fun to see what non-guitar, non-"rock" music that people listen to on this forum. List artists, genres, albums to check out...

This includes guilty pleasures too.

Alright, let's get inside everyone's heads...and iPods...

Lots of classical. Gregorian chant at the moment.
Avro Part - te deum

Any Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach.

Jazz - Charlie Parker
Curtis Fuller Quintet - Bluesette
Nat and Cannonball Adderley

Just some fave stuff off the top of my head.

Re: Non-Guitar Music You Listen To

I also listen to a lot of classical music.

Stravinski
- The Firebird
- The Rite of Spring *Actually caused a riot during the first performance in 1918!

Chausson
- Poème, Op. 25 *This is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard, and is considered an very important violin piece.

Yeah, that's great The music and the performance together is very impressive!! At least one of the rare useful things I've heard of at school.
I would name also Bach, Paganini, Edward Grieg, Mussorgsky and Omnia (a pagan folk band, using sometimes accoustic guitars, but it's not guitar music, they use many selfmade historical instruments)

I listen to a lot of the "New Country" music like Gretchen Wilson, etc.

Also some new age-y piano stuff from Rick Wakeman.

But mostly rock music, new and old.

Well music I listen to besides guitar instrumental stuff....
Metal: Opeth, Fear Factory, Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Nevermore, Iron Maiden, Racer X list goes on
Industrial: Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, etc
Alternative: Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Paul Gilbert vocal stuff, Freak Kitchen, Faith No More, The Cure, 30 Seconds to Mars, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers etc
Punk: NOFX, Millencolin, Pennywise, Strungout, Bodyjar, No Fun At All, list goes on
Modern Swing/Big Band: Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Brian Setzer Orchestra, etc. Love the classic stuff too.
Hip Hop: Jurassic 5, Roots, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, etc. None of the crappy commercial "gangsta" crap
Electronic: BT, Asian Dub Foundation, Propellerheads, Apollo440, etc
Classic rock and hard rock: AC/DC,Deep Purple, Hendrix, Zep, etc

There's just too much music that I like to list. Love Blues too, some jazz I can stand, a bit over classical after studying so much through out school. Don't mind some though.

GAwd, Poor Herbie!

Kieth Jarrett is exceptionally cool too, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, The Louis Armstrong Big Band, lots of "ambient" music - been a huge fan of Brian Eno since I was a teenager, Kate Bush, Emmylou Harris.

Mainly at home I just jam the stereo on our Classical FM station and bop along to Stravinski and his buddies .......
