I don't understand why Cesar wasn't part of the finalists, yet some people with less that 500 votes got in, some with only around 50! What was the point of voting then..

I don't get it either. I thought the top 10 in votes were the finalist?

Oh well, Cesar was my favorite of all the major entries.

I had 3 of the finalist myspace message me to swap votes etc.. and they did it with as many people as they could. I followed the trail...

I just dont see how this was a fair competition if the guitarists had to go and troll for votes.

I hope fernando miatta wins he is the most innovative guitarist out there...

That how these competitions always are. A friends band was really good. Good enough that I bought the CD before I became friends with the guy was playing a Battle of The Bands at a fairly decent sized bar here. The competition went on for a few months every friday and Saturday bands would play against each other until one was left. His band lost to a cover band who had the fat chick/singer stand out front by the ticket guy (who's job it was to find out which band you were there for) and offer to buy a beer for anyone who would vote for them. Needless to say my friend's band didnt win that one.

i was lucky enough to see the final this year, and it really was awesome. gustavo guerra put on a great performance but danielle gottardo owned it!!
hope you're entering again cesar - looks like the public get more power this time.
i can see why they did not choose the top 10 by votes though, an awful lot of rubbish there.

new comp is live now, and the top 10 are not up to much, but there are some awesome players in it anyway.
any from here entering again? i hear the prizes this year are awesome
