OK, a dumb Whitesnake/Vai question.
This is probably here somewhere, but I couldn't find it spelled out for a simpleton like me. I understand Vai only played on 6 tunes on Whitesnake's Slip Of The Tounge CD. Which ones? Thanks.

Re: OK, a dumb Whitesnake/Vai question.
Vai plays on all of the tunes on the slip of the tongue album.
Adje Vandenberg injured himself practicing his chops in the run up to the studio time.
A.V. wrote all the guitar part and Steve just recorded them pretty much as they were on the demo's but with his own unique/freak (
) twist.
By the time it came to take them on the road Vandenberg had recovered but Whitesnake was, by that time, a two guitarist band. Vai was offered the 2nd spot and accepted it as he wanted to promote himself for his PAW album.

I remember David Coverdale saying something about how the guitars sounded like christmas lights or something similar...must've been quite a shock.

I don't have the CD, but I don't remember where I heard it. If I can find it, I'll post it.

I think I was confused from the thread where Vandenberg had broken his arm... Thanks for not flaming me. ;-)

the tiniest writing I have every seen in my life is the writing on that CD where it says "Adrian Vandenburg does not appear on this record" or whatever. tiny, tiny, tiny

Re: OK, a dumb Whitesnake/Vai question.

.
