Old Band: Genesis & Phil Collins Reunion?

Anyone here still into Genesis and know more about this? Always wanted to see Genesis with Phil Collins or Peter live. Thought these news links were a shed of hope for that to happen. Looks like they have been testing the waters for a restart? Hopefully it moves forward to bigger things:

Yeah I read about this. There was a bit that I thought was a really cool thing to say (I think it was Phil) "We're all loaded, so it's not about the money. We just want to put on a good show and enjoy ourselves" It might not be word for word but it was along those lines.

This is sounding really good! I hope they're able to keep things moving forward and eventually tour the US. They have some nice guitar and keyboard sounds. Drums too...it all sounds good to me! This is so cool!

It was only a matter of time before someone said this! I like Peter, but I think Phil is better sounding with vocals. This is only opinion though. Would be cool if both returned and did a tour.

Re: Old Band: Genesis & Phil Collins Reunion?

I've seen Genesis live about a dozen or so times, so I'm totally up for this. They are a truly outstanding band, with fantastic songs. there's almost no one touring and recording now that can touch them, really. I've heard Peter Gabriel has backed out, and frankly I couldn't care less. I've heard hundreds of people over the years say the band went downhill after Gabriel left, but I don't feel that way and never did. 'A trick of the Tail' and 'Wind and Wuthering' are brilliant, and Phil sang much of the old stuff better than Peter did as well, IMHO. I think anyone who's listened to 'Seconds Out' would have a problem pointing out where Gabriel was missed. I hope they play long shows, like 3 hours or so. And they better play "Supper's Ready"!
