Opinions on my tunes?

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can check out my tunes at http://www.jeffurso.com/sounds.htm & tell me what they think? I'm a rock instrumental guitarist in the vein of Satch, Vai, Petrucci, Johnson, etc. I'm new to this forum............so see ya around!

Thanks for checking it out!

Jeff

Re: Opinions on my tunes?

I listened to your samples a while back, and your tunes really stand out in the crowd. Two issues I have though:

You have horrible vibrato
Your song titles are kind of lame

I'm sorry if you think I'm blunt, but at least you know what I think you could improve. You definitely don't overplay in many parts I thought you might, and I was impressed by this.

Bug me in a week to see if I've gotten any money recently, and if I have, I'll buy one of your CDs.

EDIT: I Alive is a wonderful song, but is there a reason the sample is of such bad quality? I hope it's not like that on the disc.

Re: Opinions on my tunes?

First off, thanks for checking out the tunes & for the compliments. No offense taken! As far as my vibrato........I've never examined it that closely. I've just done whatever came naturally. Whether it's fast or slow, whatever I felt for the moment is what comes out. My choice of song titles? I'm not too good at that, I guess. I didn't want to spend too much time on it. Some things I guess I just like to keep simple. Sound sample quality...........All of the sound samples are going to be of lesser quality. I've tried to keep the samples as "stereo" cause there is some cool separation going on in the tunes, but some of the quality does get lost. Granted, I don't have access to a $1,000,000 studio, but I believe the quality of all the songs is of the highest quality I could make. I haven't had any complaints from anyone that has purchased the CD and/or the press.

I do appreciate your honesty & I will incorporate any and all suggestions to make myself the best player I can be.

Thanks!

Jeff

Your sound samples have great quality for just being sound samples, but I Alive sounds a lot worse than the others...like a piano being played in a tin can mic'd up with a computer mic. Blah, who knows.
