OSI's "Blood"

OK, so I sat down and listened to the first song "The Escape Artist" and automatically it is my favorite song at the moment. This album is unreal...Kevin Moore and Jim Matheos are underrated geniuses. The rest of the album is top-notch, but that song in particular... I think there's a reason I preferred KevMo's style in DT.

Yes, it's bad that you don't know Fates Warning or Dream Theater.

Yeah, im really liking it also. The song with Akerfeld(sp?) from Opeth is good, and Gavin Harrison just kills on the drums. Easily my favorite current drummer.

Oh yeah I never really got too deep into who was what in those bands. Dream Theater has one or two songs that I really liked. From what I understand the drummer was the shizz but I don't remember his name.

Try Fates Warning's recent albums (Disconnected, FWX) as well as the other OSI albums (Office of Strategic Influence, Free).

If you want something a bit more mellow but with the same flavor (sans heaviness) try Chroma Key. I can DEFINITELY reccommend the You Go Now album.

Hehe, got the You Go Now deluxe thing with the DVD... I have all OSI and al CK, obvious choice was Fates Warning next, but i couldnt quite get into it the same way... Maybe ill give it another shot...

I was going to say, I would KILL to see a Making Of for You Go Now... That record is so good to, ahem, bump to. Just saying.

By the way, GMH is one of the most incredible pieces of scoring I've heard. I'm thinking of scoring a movie in the same style; possibly scoring the old anti-Marijuana porpaganda movie Reefer Madness at half-speed...

Brilliant record. Great vibe all the way through. Huge sounding guitar, and the song structures themselves are better than ever.

Huh. I forgot that came out! I need to pick that up. The first one is weird but cool enough to warrant another purchase.
