Ozzy new guitarist
Anyone going for it? What ya reckon he's looking for; a mix of all his other guitarists or a totally fresh player? Personally, I'm just gonna go for it and hope for the best. Let us all know what you think!!!

Re: Ozzy new guitarist
I'd say he's going for something fresh, it seems to be what he's done in the past.
Although he'll probably get some studio guy to write and record the album and have Zakk tour.
I have lost so much respect for Ozzy over the last few years.... but that's a different thread.
Anyway Good luck yo.
PS maybe you should be more interested in what Sharon is looking for

Re: Ozzy new guitarist
LOL, it seems she does wear the trousers. A few guys over at the JP forum have said they're gonna have a go, thought I'd see what the response over here was. As for working for Ozzy, I'd see it as the same opportunity Vai had with Zappa, DLR and Whitesnake if I got the job, not that there's much hope seeing as thought there are thousands of guitarists gonna audition.

Re: Ozzy new guitarist
So are these auditions only happening in the U.K. or here in the states as well?

Re: Ozzy new guitarist
From what I've heard Zack is going to be on the new album, the new guitarist is only needed for rehersals.

For rehearsals? What kind of "new guitarist" is that then?

Re: Ozzy new guitarist
Well, if they find a 20 year old kid with amazing guitar skills and not much common sense Sharon is going to sign him, have him re-record (that's "digitally remaster" in Sharon speak) No Rest for The Wicked, No More Tears, Ozzmosis and Down to Earth and cheat Zakk of all future royalties and tour duties.
Of course, this is just conjecture but I'm sure this will happen at some point and it's more about "when" then "if"...........

She'll also write in a book that she did the new guitarist if he dies on tour.

Re: Ozzy new guitarist
Hope you can live on $200 per week, that's probably about all the winner will get, except for the "prestige" of playing with Ozzy. It sounds like a blast, but I'm beyond the days that I can do that. I remember an old George Lynch interview that he said he was better off not getting the Ozzy gig one time because he made more money driving his delivery truck and he had a family to support.
But hey, if you can do it, GO FOR IT, like I said, it sounds like a blast!

With Sharon running the show you'll be lucky if you get paid at all
