Pandora Web Radio

Someone just passed this on to me, and it seems pretty cool to me. I may be late to this party, so if everyone has been listening to this for a year already...
Anyway, you tell it a band name and it plays music by them and other 'similar' bands.

Re: Pandora Web Radio

I started using it about a year and a half ago, but I haven't even visited the site in months.

Re: Pandora Web Radio

I haven't used them in a while either, but yeah, I'd been lsitening to Pandora.com at work for quite some time.

Cool program - I discovered a couple good prog-y or hard rock bands through there. 3's "Wake Pig" album and Kamelot's "The Black Halo" are probably my two favorite discoveries so far...

Re: Pandora Web Radio

I love this site! It's become one of my favorite places on the Internet, and is almost always on in the background. The sheer volume of new music I'm hearing is just awesome Some band called "Age of Nemesis" is playing now, "Vanden Plas" just went off, and I was totally unfamiliar with either of them. Porcupine Tree was on a bit earlier, and new bands (to me, anyway) just keep coming out. Excellent stuff

Currently, "Dropping Like Flies" by Metal Church is playing on the station I'm listening to. I know of the band, but not the song.

Porcupine Tree flat-out rules, Jim. I'm not sure which of their albums is my favorite, but to be honest you can't go wrong with either "Deadwing" or "In Absentia," if you've liked what you've heard.

I'm thinking of "upgrading" the motto on my recording workstation's monitor from "What Would Devin Townsend Do?" to "What Would Steven Wilson Do?"

Re: Pandora Web Radio

I think all I've heard from PT is 'Radioactive Toy'. Pandora seems to be stuck pretty good on that one I'll look to pick up both of those disks today, though.
