Passion & Warfare: What guitars used at different tracks?

There is a thing I've been wondering about for a little while. What guitars did Steve Vai use at the different tracks on Passion & Warfare? I have the tab book which gives a lot of info, but not exactly what equipment used on every track. Did he exclusively use jems and UVs?

Would be very intresting if anyone could provide us with some info about this topic (sure I'm not the only one wanting to know

1. Liberty
2. Erotic Nightmares
3. The Animal
4. Answers
5. The Riddle
6. Ballerina 12/24
7. For the Love of God
8. The Audience is Listening
9. I Would Love to
10. Blue Powder
11. Greasy Kid's Stuff
12. Alien Water Kiss
13. Sisters
14. Love Secrets

As far as I recall, a lot of Green Meanie, some JEM, and a Universe prototype...

As I recall, the Hal Leonard (or is it Cherry Hill) publishing edition of the PAW tab book contains extremely detailed notes written by Vai as to what specific gear he used on specific songs on the album. Right from the horse's mouth, as they say.

The consensus is that he used the meanie a lot, and other than the obvious songs ("The Audience is Listening") that are either entirely seven-string based or at least contain seven string material, there is surprisingly little Jem playing going on there...

The only thing I could find out is that he used the black Universe on all distorted sounds on Liberty. The tab book also says that he used the Green meanie, tom anderson custom, bc rich double neck, 7, 77 and 777s + sitar and a couple of acoustics.

Re: Passion & Warfare: What guitars used at different tracks?

There was a recent tab in some guitar magazine, I believe, a couple years ago that said "For the Love of God" was a green dot black UV plugged straight into a marshall head, with a compressor. The wording was a little ambiguous as to whether it was a compression pedal between the guitar and the amp, or if they were compressing his signal at the board - I mean, they very clearly stated that he plugged "straight into" the Marshall, yet it seems weird to specifically mention the compression applied in the mix and not, say, the EQ, verb, or delay, so you sort of have to wonder... I think it was a Jones (?) 6-string sitar for the arpeggios in the background too.

Why would he use a 7-string, when FTLoG doesn't use a 7th string?
(Or does it?)

As I remember, he used Universes on almost everything. Especially the mirrored one. I have no idea where my copy of the book is, so I won't say for sure.

From Steve Vai, PAW TAB book by Hal. Leonard:

'On the tune "Liberty", the Black 7-string universe was used on all distorted sounds such as melodies and harmonizer'.

On the tune "Liberty" a Guild acoustic with direct mic'ing was used.
