Paul Gilbert European tour ?
I don't know if Paul is touring Europe (nothing on his website that I could see?), but there's a couple of shows on ticketmaster (Dublin, Belfast, Southhampton) scheduled for November, so maybe watch his site and see what happens...
Is it a proper tour, or just a quick stop-off? Got my ticket anyway

The London gig isn't on ticketmaster - which site did you order your tickets from, Andy?

Re: Paul Gilbert European tour ?
Couldn't find any record of it, but it says festival republic on the ticket so i would guess it's this place...

Re: Paul Gilbert European tour ?
Well worth it if you can still get tickets, we saw Pablo on the 25th of September (P60, Amstelveen) pretty cool concert even though his voice wasn't great; good selection of stuff representing his entire career.
We chatted a bit with his roadie and drummer afterwards, who were very friendly, his band is awesome, lots of power from the rhythm section, especially Jeff. Interesting guitar-keys battles between Paul and Emi, if you're into that sorta stuff...
Paul's roadie went backstage for us to get some stuff signed, unfortunately that meant we didn't get to meat Paul in person. (I guess that's the downside from having those VIP tickets available, those who don't get those will not meet Paul)

Re: Paul Gilbert European tour ?
I had a VIP ticket. Got to play the Fireman (SSS) and that alone was nice.
That guitar has the thickest neck I've ever seen on any Ibanez. I asked him if the PGM Fireman will be exactly the sam. Although he couldn't say "yes", he said the guitar got shipped to Japan so they could measure everything. Reasons to believe the neck will stay fat.
Really something different from Ibanez, as I see it.

Re: Paul Gilbert European tour ?
It appeared to me he also played an artist model similar to the John Scofield Model on a couple of songs, can you confirm that? It had a different bridge and switch location from the JSM.

Re: Paul Gilbert European tour ?
I was at the Helsinki gig and it was super! To play those things he plays and not to make a single mistake and even throw in some show-man-stuff... I think I'll move on to play duck whistle.
The Korina Iceman/Fireman (S-S-S) sounded good, but the sunburst sig. model (first time I've seen one) wasn't so "ringy". Maybe it was because of the mahogany...
I was really pleased that he played some Mr. Big tunes. Green Tinted Sixties Mind got perhaps the biggest applause of the night.
