(Apologies if this has been posted before - I've searched and can't find it...)

I've watched it a few times; each time i feel like i've been slightly brain washed...

I'm amazed at how fluent they are in Japaneese. I know they've been in Japan for a long time now but still, that's pretty amazing.

And all we get around here is #$#ing J.Lo and Shakira. It's time to immigrate to Japan.

Re: Paul Gilbert vs Marty Friedman

I bet Marty is beginning to forget his English. He didn't say a single word in English in the entire video (except for song names).

Re: Paul Gilbert vs Marty Friedman

That's absolute madness but cool in a way too.
Why don't we get cool TV shows over here. If somebody offed that Charlotte Church bint and a few other wastes of space's we'd have a gap in the schedule for ROCK !!!

I know! lol

I've actually been looking into spending some time over there and some of their customs seem strange, but I guess that's a different culture for you. Stuff like if you get invited to someone's house it's good manners to bring them a gift (I should try and introduce that around here...) or things like they don't believe in tipping waiters/waitresses, oh and they don't let your glass empty when drinking in a group... they top you up every couple of chugs so you don't know how much you're drinking.

Anyone care to shed some light on this? I'm just going off tourist guide books.

Oh and yeah Gilbert and Friedman are damn good at the language aren't they?!

Nope, absolute truth.

It says in this book that Westerners should carry tissues with them.

Re: Paul Gilbert vs Marty Friedman

excellent!

nice of those Japanese to add subtitles, unfortunately those were also in Japanese

pretty funny when they pull letters out of a box, and the guys are supposed to play a song by an artist with that letter...Y is for Yngwie, D=Deep Purple, B=Black Sabbath, etc.

M comes up and Marty plays:

"Seek and Destroy!"

\m/\m/

it appears the host asks him: why not Megadeth? so Marty continues to play an excerpt from "Holy Wars..." after which Paul replies with "Green Tinted Sixties Mind" (another M-band...obviously)

Paul's custom Ibanez Flying V is also pretty bitchin'

BTW I think this show is sponsored by Ibanez, judging by the ad' for the PGM301 at the end.
