Really? It looks like Intro, then for the solo break JSteve went first, then John, they did 10 seconds together, and off to the outro. I thought Steve gave John lots of room to play in.

It didn't seem like stepping on him to me; It is Vai`s song and he gave him the approriate breaks to me & even laid back during the whole song if you ask me

+1 Vai doesn't seem like the kinda guitarist that would step on some1 if you ask me. I thought at Crossroads guitar festival Eric Clapton stepped on some people though.

Clapton can be quite aggressive as a player actually, vai tends to set people up rather than attempt to show them up imo.
