Rush releasing all covers album "Feedback"

Yup, there's a short clip of them doing The Who's Summertime Blues on their website from the CD entitled Feedback (releasing June 28th in the UK and June 29th in NA):

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Geddy singing Crossroads would sound a bit...awkward?

Couldn't find another thread, so I figured I'd resurrect this one for some reviewing:

Summertime Blues
Great riff, really heavy, great groove to it, and did somebody say tight? Great song.

Heart Full Of Soul
Great sound to it, production's really cool. Sounds like it came straight out of the 60s, but with better equipment.

The Seeker
Pretty good. Not my favorite on the album, but still good enough that I don't skip over it.

For What It's Worth
Great sound on this one. I love the sound of the guitars on the choruses.

Shapes of Things
Cool sound on this one too. Again, could have come straight out of the 60s but with better equipment.

Mr. Soul
Not bad. Again, not my favorite, but I don't skip over it.

Crossroads
Not bad. Band recorded live in the studio with bass panned left and guitar panned right with vocals overdubbed. Geddy doesn't sound bad on this song, though I haven't heard any other versions of this song (yes, I know...).

Seven and Seven Is
Pretty good. Mr. Peart's playing a drum roll through the whole song basically. Cool sound to the song.

Overall
Not a bad album. Not what you'd usually expect from Rush of course. No extended solos on this one, not to say there aren't solos. All the tracks clock in at under 4 minutes. Great production on this album. Amazing sound. Sounds old, vintage, but still clear and clean and full like you'd expect with today's technology. I think this album would be great to have on vinyl.

They're playing three of these tunes on their "R30" 30th anniversary tour. I caught both SF Bay Area shows, and lemme tell ya, there aren't many rock bands who can pull this kind of show off anymore. Truly memorable.

Check 'em out while you get the chance.

Is it Blue Cheer's version of Summertime Blues they are doing? I heard a DJ say that. You know, with that extra heavy riffage at the beginning and end.

Yep, it is. Sounds great (there's an interview with Geddy in the most recent "Bass Player" magazine, and he goes talks about 5 of the songs on this album, and that's one of them).

Wasnt it Neil Peart that called the guys that contributed to the Rush tribute album, "A bunch of bar bands trying to cash in on our work"? Seems a bit fishy that now hes involved with a cover album...hmmm

yeah, he then apologized once he found out that it was a tribute, not other people trying to pass of their work as rush.
