Sad day for me. :(

One of my favorite musicians and songwriters, Co-Admin of sevenstring.org, forum guru and all around nice ****in' guy, my buddy Josh, has sold off all of his gear and decided to, sadly, toss in the towel after 15 or so years.

Here's some of his playing.

And here is some more.

"You can tell by the way I seek pity,
But won't ask for a helping hand.
Down that road you maybe someday,
I can show who I am.

Deep inside feels like nothing I'll mention,
Despite good wishes and good intentions.
You can say this is easy, you may have,
But you don't know who I am."

Sucks, but he made some great music. We're not pro musicians by any stretch, but I think his playing and songwriting is beautiful, and just thought I'd share his last works.

Well, you never know. I've had more than one friend (Jeff, John, Rob and Joe) who sold his equipment only to buy a new rig later...

His stuff sounds cool. He should stick with it. The music itself is the real reward anyway.

Quite alot of the time they do play again. Its one of those things that you cant really "give-up" once you have started. Especially after years of playing, you just cant put it down!

I know someone that didnt play for say 15 years, and has just started again. I saw a video of him when he used to play, and he was awesome, he was a superb shredder! He started again this year, and he hasnt lost it at all. He can still shred!

Its one of those things, you can never "give-up" as such. Whether the reason is debts, children, work or whatever, you always go back to it. But thats just part and part of life I suppose. Things dont last forever.

The godfather speaks the truth.

He's probably just tired of all the crap that goes along with putting everything (emotion, money, time) you've got into something and not getting anything back out of it. It's hard to write checks when your bank account runs dry

I went through something similar. I didn't sell all of my gear, but came pretty close. The rest just collected dust for 5 years. Getting back into it though, so odds are he will too. He's just too talented to be able to drop it forever. When he starts playing for his own gratification again, he'll be back in the saddle.

Until then, it's a waiting game.
