So it seems I'm to be a professional guitarist!
Today I quit my low-level media job to take up a position at a guitar store, teaching and teching. I'm also going to be playing in a covers duo which looks like it will be pretty lucrative. Woohoo! And the best thing about it, aside from no longer being stuck in an office from 4pm-midnight monday to friday, is that I won't have to work 40 hours a week to make ends meet, so I can spend more time at home with my girlfriend and the baby that's slowly but steadily preparing itself to enter the world.

Oh and I won't have to waste valuable annual leave days to apply for a day off work just so I can go to a concert that starts at 10:30pm.

That is cool. I wish I could be so lucky but there really aren't a lot of jobs like that around here (also I'm not a big fan of playing covers).

Re: So it seems I'm to be a professional guitarist!
And I just found out the covers duo looks like it'll be even... lucrativer than I thought.
I was all worried I'd end up not making as much money as I was at my old job, but it looks like I'll pretty much double it. Wooo!
The store is called World of Music. I used to work for one of their stores when I was 16. Now I'm 27 and have always kept in touch with them. Now they need a teacher/tech and I wanna get out of my old job, so it was right place/right time.
