SONG FROM WAYNE'S WORLD

Hail glensiters from around the world,

Y'know, I was fondly thinking about a certain song from the movie, Wayne's World, just now; I was hoping you could help me identify it. There's this beautiful guitar-instrumental piece that plays briefly in the background during one of the last few scenes.

The scene: Cassandra is shooting a new music video where she's wearing this sexy animal-hide costume with a python(?) around her neck; Wayne shows up a little later to apologizes to Cassandra for breaking her heart, and it's during his apology speech that the song is wafted in. The song's got this beautiful, lone, singing, lead guitar part; simply amazing, simply amazing! (She forgives him immediately after that btw.)

I still think about that song all these years later; and for some reason never got around to finding out about it(!) - never too late though, I'm prepared to hunt it down to the ends of the earth if I must. For starters, does anyone know the name and artist of the song?

Thanks a lot guys.

I heard the part you meant, not bad. Right after the Oscar Moment, right? Like, the strings start in the Oscar moment, then you hear the guitar for one note, the music cuts out for a bit, then comes back with the guitar solo?

I checked the end credits based on the hunch that they'd be in the order they appeared in the movie, and knowing that the Mission Impossible Theme came right after. Now, by this theory, it's "The Machine" by Black Sabbath, but since I've never heard that, I'm not sure it's correct.

My guess? One of the two symphonies listed.

It's definitely not Time Machine by Black Sabbath.

It's not these I'm guessing (mainly because of the performed by part):

Romeo and Juliet - Fantasy Overture
Performed by: Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra

STRING QUARTET IN G, OPUS 54, NO.1 - THIRD MOVEMENT
Performed by: The Aeolian Quartet

"THE MURDER"
By Bernard Herrmann
(from the movie "Psycho", used in Waynes World as Garth hums it while stabbing donut man)

I think it's uncredited.

Just watching the movie now

The song as Wayne is driving up is
Time Machine by Black Sabbath from the album 1992 Dehumaniser (track 6!)
it isnt an instrumental btw
Yes I have the album here

This is the bit just before the policeman from T2 shows up

The orchestral bit as he apologises standing by the car...
Not sure it is a string quartet with the guitar solo...
