"Maple Leafs" on the Japanese edition of the album
What is it, a sample of someone saying "eh" put into a sequencer and bent all to hell with the whammy?

Boy do I have lousy timing! The first time I've ever taken a November vacation and Steve Vai, Himself, posts on jemsite.

BLTN... Welcome to jemsite Steve!

I've been a fan of your music since your early days with FZ. I discovered Frank's music in 1972 and my life changed forever.

Scott

P.S.
I love the blue Jem!

I really love the way the guitar looks and the fret markers are actually little dayglow lights that actually light up when I want to show off.
I spoke to Ibanez about making this a production model but it's tricky to figure out what to use to make it work. check vai.com in the future for updates on this.

Although I'm a little suprised that Mr. Vai (AKA... guy with light blue hair, remember?) is making his Jemsite debut at this point in time I'm overwhelmed and completely stoked as well...

Steve - thanks for the inspiration! From Zappa to Alkatrazz to DLR,Whitesnake,PIL,G3... and beyond we humbly thank youse. (Hey, I'm from Jersey).

My JEM7VWH looks like it was sent from above. It's tone is beyond words. Thank you Steve...

WOW!

Steve, thanks for taking time out of your hectic schedule to drop by and fill us in on current events. How many other artists would do this? Not many!

Thanks again and hope to hear from you again soon.

Thank You and Welcome !

Hi Steve !

What can i say.....i'm STOKED I've been waiting for this moment sinca God knows when ! I want to say Thank You for the music, memories and inspiration You have had a profound impact on my life and still do. I can't go a day w/out listening to your music. It's like an addiction only this drug doesn't bring me down but instead it takes me places i never thought i could go ! It inspires me to be better than i am and to always try my best in whatever i do.

I don't know if you remember this but back in March of '97, you had a concert in Singapore at the Hard Rock Cafe. There was an autograph session that preceeded the concert at Tower Records. I was the first in line for the autograph session and the concert ! You signed my Jem7VWH ( the only one in Singapore at the time ) At the concert, i was right in front of you and sang along to every single line of 'Little Alligator'. Midway through the concert, i had to be brought backstage cos' the crowd was getting rough and i was fainting and it was there that i met Ruta Sepetys and she gave me a bottle of water to cool down. After the concert you came to the back and handed me a pick off your guitar ( i think it was EVO ) and you even took a picture of me before you left. Needless to say, it was THE moment in my life and it sealed my fate as a lifelong Steve Vai fanatic ! Thank You for that night ! I'm getting emotional just reminiscing so i think i better end it here. Once again, thank you and don't be a stranger.

This quote speaks volumes to me.

The fact that you are Steve Vai probably means that you will never truly know how your music affects those who listen to it.

There is magic in your world, keep it coming.

Actually, at some point in the future, i'm going down to F#... I'm playing guitar in a friend's rock opera, most likely on the 7, so unless the music seems to be lending itself to the super-low tunings (not likely) it'll have to wait till after that's wrapped up, but then...
