Tandjent - No One Will Hear Us (New CD)

Hello fellow Ibanezers,

My band Tandjent is just about to release our debut CD called No One Will Hear Us on September 6th. It's pretty much technical / progressive / strange metal for the most part. I do quite a bit of soloing (a rare thing for metal these days, I know!) and also vocals.

My other guitar player and I recorded the entire album in our home studio using Ibanez RG7420's modded with EMG707 pickups. We were able to get an incredibly raw rhythm sound with them and we are both generally very proud of the final product. There are a few samples of some of the songs that I would love if you guys checked out along with pre-order information and other things all available at our website:

www.tandjent.com

I've put a lot of hard work into this over the last couple years and I hope that someone out there might enjoy it.

Thanks,
Tim

I heard you. Dude, i think it's done!
Best debut album i've ever heard on the last year.
Very Meshugg-ish and very well recorded.
Congratz and keep it up!

Wow, thanks Tubarão! That's quite a compliment.
Meshuggah is definitely one of our bigger influences, but I think the overall feel of the album has a style all its own. We definitely did slave over the production too.

Thanks to you to André.

Update:

Human Antidote was played in entirety on a local radio station last night. The DJ had some very nice words about the album. I recorded the segment and made it available as an mp3 on my site.

Thumbs up

Re: Tandjent - No One Will Hear Us (New CD)

Awesome! Great stuff, really Meshugga (style)...I'd almost say you borrowed the singer from Meshugga! I'm really into this 7string strange stuff lately so this really makes my day! Sick solos too.

Indeed one of the best things I've heard lately. The dutch 'Meshugga styled' band 'Textures' was another recent discovery.

Thanks a lot krizz,
It's nice to know that people can appreciate it after all the work we put into it!
I have heard Textures before. They're pretty cool.

Check out the site now. I just put up a new sample for the song Paralyzed.

Yes, listening to some of the samples, i agree with the other people on this thread.

It's very well produced and sounds great (I'm a massive Meshuggah fan).

Question: What the hell do you use to get that sound on the sample in Human Antidote. That's the distortion i'm trying to get on my 7-string

Aaahhh, i've never liked EMG pickups because it means i have to chissle up my loverly guitar. But if it's for my ever longlasting quest for tone, then prehaps i may have to

'Corse, i'm looking into Lundgrens aswell

Re: Tandjent - No One Will Hear Us (New CD)

Yah,
I'd love to test out the Lundgrens. They have a really sweet tone. I don't know if they would be quite as hot as I would need them to be though.

It didn't hurt that bad to put in the 707's. I didn't pay that much for my guitar and it's not the prettiest of things hehe.. It does require some routing though, so have a professional do it if you have a decent guitar!

Re: Tandjent - No One Will Hear Us (New CD)

I'm actually thinking of routing out only the bridge and filling in the neck pickup.

'Corse i'm sacrificing something i use alot when practicing, but i don't use the neck much live so i figure it'd be alright.

But that's offtopic

Re: Tandjent - No One Will Hear Us (New CD)

I couldn't wire up my stock neck pickup to work with the active EMG in the bridge, so it is currently just for looks. I never use the neck either.
