Drawing a blank on their name, but I heard their new single on the radio last night. a few quick thoughts-
-Yeah, they still sound like Creed.
-I always kinda liked Scott Stape's voice... but the new guy has a set of pipes, too. A little more old-school, post-ozzy in vibe than the post-nirvana growling of Stape (not a lot, just a little), but I like what he's doing.
-Tremonti takes a solo on this one. Yep, the guy can shred. He can't phrase; the first line's pretty cool- these slow sustained notes, then a quick half-second speed-picked burst, back to a slow released bend- but after that it's just a speed-picking free-for-all. Oh well, he probably feels like he has something to prove.
Overall, not half bad. I'd be curious to pick up the CD, but I heard the new Velvet Revolver tune shortly thereafter, and it's going to have to wait until after that one- tryiong to keep my cd buying in check.
