The evolution of Petrucci
Some would've thought this was going to be a thread about his playing...
I'm impressed (in a perfectly straight kinda-way :P)! The thread in one of the other sections about his new rig walkthru kinda made me do a double take when I watched the video.

Re: The evolution of Petrucci
Wow, what a change. Those pics aren't in order but yeah he's changed. I think he struggles with his wieght, and I understand that. I used to be be pretty fat myself. I weighed 115Kg (or 250-60lbs). I now weigh about 85Kg (~190lbs). It was really difficult to loose wieght and change my lifestyle. I think Petrucci tries to excercise but he has concentrated on pumping iron and not on cardio and now he's both muscular and over-weight.
I bet it's hard to find time to eat right and exercise effectively while touring and recording so much. It also doesn't help that he's getting older.

Re: The evolution of Petrucci
I don't think he struggles with his weight.
From the early Majesty photos you can see he's an average skinny bloke. So in his formative years he was skinny. He's only recently gotten HUGE, and I think it's due to intensive weight training or something.
What a difference though. All you skinny nerds out there that want to become huge, it's possible. Just look at Petrucci!
He should do an advert for a protein drink. I reckon he'd get money for it. lol.

I think he went to the "George Lynch School of Steroid Use;" but flunked out.

Re: The evolution of Petrucci
Last time I got to hang out with him which was a year ago, he didn't look fat. I'm sure he weighs over 200 pounds but the guy is as big as a WWE wrestler.
He's closer to Zakk Wylde than John Candy as far as weight goes.
Zakk Wylde was very skinny when he started with Ozzy and now he's a big muscular guy.

Re: The evolution of Petrucci
Yeah, he's really muscular now. I think he is a bit chubby but I live in japan and I'm biased because here the standards for body type are very differemt. And I can't think clearly about it anymore I'm all mixed up about how a person should look. I have a 34 inch waiste and my doctor says I'm chubby. I'm 5' 11" so that's what I mean.
But to those who say he looks like he's on steriods, come on. I think that's harsh and too accusational. I seriously doubt a professional musician needs performance inhancing drugs. What's he doing, powerlifting his enormous rig? Plus it's immature, it reminds me of the punker kids in high school who called everyone interested in fitness a "jock" and they were all on "roids."
