Tony Macalpine CD shopping spree!

I went to the local music store to get some strings for the new Carvin and they had 5 used Tony Macalpine CDs, used and mint. So now I have listening material for a while!

Previously I only had some mp3s. I never heard anything from Chromaticity, which is great. I want CAB 2 and Evolution now which they did not have.

Did have Freedom to Fly which I think is one of the most underrated guitar albums ever.

My friend just sent me the first song from CAB 2... it was killer!!!

Reminds me of GHS (Gambale, Hamm, Smith) a bit.

Re: Tony Macalpine CD shopping spree!

Chromaticity rules. Tony MacAlpine is one of my favorite guitarists. The guy can play some serous guitar and keyboards and his phrasing and tone rules on this album. This album put him high on my list. It features him and Barry Sparks on bass and Steve Smith on drums. These guys are all talented! Great album. I cannot stop listening to it. Highly recommended.

CAB albums are awesome too. his fusion stuff is just as good.

I just registered on his forum two days ago. Nothing much seems to be happening over there but cool forum nonetheless.

Nice. Hey, I figured it was time I get there. Tony MacAlpine has become one of my favorite guitar players and I can't wait to get more of his music soon.

I downloaded Tears of Sahara - could this be a melodic shredder? (That's like saying a retarded genious.... it really doesn't exist).

I'll echo the good stuff about the first CAB album. And the Planet X CDs.
