Alright here are some suggestions:

*Frequent updates to the Journal would be great
*Some more bee-updates (or am I the only one enjoying those?)
*A cool screensaver would be cool
*I would like the mailbag back please
*More cd-artwork (hmm, or maybe desktop patterns based on each cd-cover)
*Contests
*I think a (weekly?) poll would be great.
*Organized chats with Himself (we get to know the time some days beforehand) once in a while
*Fan of the month-feature
*Add my fan-site to the Fan-site page; http://hem.passagen.se/ultravai

Actually I've always wondered, why did Steve get into bees? Could someone enlighten me?

Well, I guess in a life of music and guitar-playing, bee-keeping might be the perfect hobby(?)
Hmm, hoom. I have made some more thinking and have come up with this:

*Perhaps what I'd really like are sections on the page devoted to each album, with alternative cover art pages, the background of each song and a photo section from the specific album and tour period etc.
*About the poll section, I think it could be a great way to get the average opinion of all fans on different topics, like new sections of the site, or even if Steve Himself has something he wants to ask us fans!
*The reason for a "Fan of the month-feature" would be I would find it cool to find a short interview of a fan who bought something interesting from your ebay auctions, or something like it.
I hope you find these thoughts valuable,

Kettil

Here's yet another vote for more multimedia and in more file options then just QT.

My biggest problem with what's there already is that the volume on those vids is so low that I gotta crank everything way up to hear just about anything. That shouldn't be. Could you guys revamp what's there and 'normalise' the audio - i.e. Pump up da volume!

I've gotten way more Vai video off of P2P then what's at vai.com and that's just wrong! Glad to hear you guys are working on more stuff. Can't wait to see it!

well, except for lessons and more (better) pics and specs of his current guitars, I´d like to see more pics of Green Meanie (Sorry Glen, but the ones on here are not very good and are almost exclusively frontal shots). When I asked Steve about this he said that GM is in a museum and he forgot where though...

so if anyone has any idea as to where GM is?

It would also be fun to have his comments on other guitarists and bands, as well as comments on different brands of guitars (I´m sure he has played a lot of guitars that aren't made by Ibanez)

Yeah, it's discussed here... unless you know someone or happen to work there, I think you're out of luck getting pictures.

I was planning to ask Steve to go there and get some pics if he´s ever in the area... I don't think they'll tell HIM to get lost, do you?

Hey Vai.com guys - thanks for taking over and hope things go well.

Back when Steve raffled off the Heart guitar, I subscribed to Greasy Kids' Stuff and have received ZERO issues. Actually, now that I think about it, Pike included an old issue with the raffle tickets I bought for the guitar, but I've not seen anything since. I don't think my name was lost - I think GKS just went unattended right after I subscribed.

I hope the GKS subscription base will be treated to a renewed interest in the publication - these are the most loyal of the loyal I would think.

On the subject of Pike, an announcement should be made at some point. My apologies if I've missed something.

One other suggestion - a disclosure of the Make A Noise Foundation's doings - its activity, donations, etc. MANF was obviously born from tax planning, but our Jemfests, etc. have contributed to it and I, as a contributor/participant in a few of those things would appreciate some info. Again, if I've missed something, I apologize. I contributed significantly to the Heart guitar raffle and would just like to know what you/they do.

Thanks again and good luck -

Chris Lange

I'm a bit of a t-shirt freak, so some more of those would be nice). I'm also going to go with the crowd on the lessons. A real nice one would be how Steve gets his tone, what he used on each album, how he's found each unit to affect his sound, etc.

I'm glad to see you guys on this forum, and hope this continues!

Awesome, good to see you guys here.

I'm definately in support of lessons- the infamous "10 hour workout" would be a great place to start, but two things we as guitarists almost never see are theory lessons (not "this is a cool lick," but "this idea suggests licks like this one") and production/mixing/mastering tips- Vai has produced some amazing sounding albums. Maybe detail the mixing process of a track off each of them? Or if he doesn't remember, if you could ask him to maybe take notes while mixing/recording a track off the new album- you know, to see inside his head when he's getting sounds on tape and making them "work" together. That'd be invaluable.

I suppose for copyright reasons tabs would be too much to hope for, but maybe a "riff/lick of the month" would be nice- whoever suggested that, i'm seconding it.

Idunno, i'm sure whatever you two do will be great.

What I would really like to see is some of the other JEMs Steve got from other manufacturers before Ibanez was selected. Seeing a Fender or Gibson JEM is a site worth seeing!

Here is a good idea:
If you ever get a store or something online for cd's and such
*PLEASE* make sure we can pay with a credit card (and NO PAYPAL!).

I had to send cash to the fanclub for a subscribtion and back issues of GKS, and you've guessed it, the cash (around 80 dollars) never arrived and Rich never could trace it, so a CC feature would be great. I don't think I'll ever send cash again anywhere...

And paypal sucks.

(I'm from Europe btw).

Thanks folks!
