Vai (PRS) When & why?

Is he aloud by Ibanez to play other brands in public? Looks like a recent picture. He doesn't have a Jem by his side at all times? I wish he would go to PRS, sometimes!

I don't think that is Steve's PRS - if you look it says "we have the PRS Steve is playing" - not "We have Steve's PRS" - very Ed Roman indeed!

Steve's PRS used to be on page 5 of his gallery but that page has shrunk to one guitar. Not quite sure what happened there.

My thoughts exactly too! It goes on to say "Steve's actual guitars are mostly handmade" as well. Can we sue Ed Roman for all bs? For false advertising maybe? There has to be something - that **** is just not cool!

Anyone who knows the story about how the Jems became to be and got their name was because Steve Vai had the original design made by a small company named Gem that couldn't produce him too many models (or make a line available) so he went to Ibanez and renamed it Jem to not directly rip off from Gem's company name. That's about the extent of their association other than I think they are friends too...

His guitars are "handmade"...after being CNC routed at Ibanez in Japan, someone finishes and assembles them by "hand". All guitars are "handmade" at some point.

I thought it was because Joe Despagani built JEM guitars for him... And subsequently, when Vai endorsed Ibanez, the name JEM was used?
