Re: Vai's main axe

Hes played a load of guitars, but i think the only two "main axes" were the Meanie, and EVO... and now, with EVO almost to pieces, FLO is gaining up...

I wonder if FLO is the floral he used to play before the VWH days, or if its another one... Ill have grandkids before the All About FLO is posted on vai.com

Re: Vai's main axe

I think it would be cool if he starting using a floral again. Except make it different. How cool would a BFP be if it was all green. Pickups, inlay on maple, and the normal BFP cloth except a vibrant green. I can see it now...a GFP.

Re: Vai's main axe

When he finally retires Evo he should go with a completely new guitar, hopefully not the mirrored one. Something entirely new.

Re: Vai's main axe

Perhaps its going to be the VSBL that he's been playing a lot of, at the Metropole and now ZPZ..

Re: Vai's main axe

It is konx he has written on the tape over his neck pickup. His main guitar seems to be Evo, and it will probably be a long time until he decides to retire it. It seems that the only problem with it was the crack near the neck joint. Last I heard, it was reported on the Vai boards, by a moderator, to have been repaired. The only other thing wrong with it is cosmetic damage.
Flo is another one of his frequently used Jems, but mainly only when he uses the sustainer.

Re: Vai's main axe

Generally speaking, Vai played the JEM77FP a fair amount before picking up Evo (a JEM7VWH as his main guitar). He's also played a JEM7PBK and the JEM777DSY a bit
