VERY important news about G3 London

hi gang,
"I heard the news today, oh boy"

about a crap train service in London. There is a planned train and tube shutdown next Tuesday, funnily enough the same day that Satch, Fripp and that Vai person are in town. I can probably get to the concert if I take the day off work, but there is no way I can get back.

Anybody want to buy a ticket to G3?

You must be able to get back via bus?
Whereabouts do you live?

No way back? I know what you mean.

But after a bit of thinking, if I knew all this before, or next time, I don't care how to get back and take for a day off after the show. Hey, it's just for one night, just book a motel or something for one cheap night, life is short

Last week I went to see G3 at Arrow, the camping was full so I booked a camping in the neighborhood of the festival, ahem what do I say?? It was 12 darn km's from there! It was about 2 hours of fierce walking, and that was only the half of it... I can tell you; that wasn't easy after ~3.5 hours of standing and watching G3!

Conlcusion: Come on man! Don't miss the show!

I live on the very very very outskirts of Greater London, you know...where there be dragons, etc.

It'll take about 4 hours by bus according to the timetables, and local-ish buses stop running well before I'm even halfway back, so it's an impossibility. I'm also utterly butterly skint (poor) so a motel or whatever is out of the question, haha.

If I sold my ticket I could afford the cab fare about a quarter of the way back maybe, but I haven't really thought this plan through...

Any London Jemsiter got a spare room?
That sucks to not be able to go.

Are there no rail replacement services? Have you checked that out?
What are the times of the strikes, they have sometimes previously only been during rush hour.

It starts at 18.30 so if you can get there before that it's ok GETTING THERE. Getting home how ever is a differant story, i'm getting the train there and getting a lift in the car home. London is ****in nightmare in the car though. At least it'll be easy to get to the merchandise stools if no ones there.

I went to see Ash recently and missed the last train home, leaving me stranded in London until the next morning when I could catch a train. I was with two friends. We wondered round London for a couple of hours before finding a hotel near Victoria that had left chairs and tables out the front. We decided to just go and sit outside the hotel until morning. It worked as well, the staff saw us and didn't kick us off. I'm not recommending it, but it is an option...

Hey Artist, asking for accomodation on my behalf is frightfully kind, thank you.

Well, I had to blow a senior politician in the backstreets of Westminster, and trade my liver for some fava beans and a lacklustre Chianti, but I think I've secured a room and bed and some damn fine company for the night and next day until the tube starts running again.

Joy.

Congrats man. It should be an awesome gig.

Considering getting a t shirt that on says "Don't boo Fripp you bastards" on both sides. Judging by previous show reviews it might be needed .
