Wes Borland

Wes Borland is finally hitting the studio to record a solo album! He's got the songs written already. Since Eat The Day has been shelved for a while since they couldn't find a singer they were really happy with (almost got Danny Lohner and Richard Patrick into the band, but it fell through). Apparently the solo album is going to be all instrumental (or at least, last I heard). He'll be bringing Danny Lohner and some other friends along for the ride (as well as a very very special guest he hinted at).

if the whole album is instrumental, or even part of it, I think he deserves more respect than almost any musician out there. He could be making a lot of money with Limp Bizkit right now, and he made a conscious decision to do what he wants to do, even though he's going to get less money out of the deal Way to go Wes!

Yeah, he said he would be coming to Australia to record this 'special guest.' I'm frying my brain trying to figure out who it could possibly be. Notable folk who now live in Australia include Hank Marvin and the singer from White Lion. *LOL*

There's been a few rumours floating around about Wes and Nine Inch Nails (joining/touring, not collaborating on the album)...nothing confirmed though

I would say the special guest could be Trent Reznor, but it's unlikely as he does all his work at his studio in New Orleans, and is working on the new NIN album.

I know he's also friends with all the guys in Tool, NIN, and A Perfect Circle, so...

Interesting.

I doubt he'd be making a ton of cash with Limp Bizkit... their star is falling fast. People's respect for them, even faster.

Very cool that he's doing an instrumental record. He's done some interesting stuff.

Speaking of notable Australians, have any of you guys ever heard Jeff Lang?

Note: Limp Bizkit went downhill when Wes left and Fred decided to do more "ballads"

As for the new album it being instrumental was a "last I heard" kinda thing. It may not be all instrumental, but the original plan was for it to be. Either way, should be interesting

*crosses fingers for Wes in Nine Inch Nails on tour*
