Still a lousy statistic, there's no way kirk hammet is better than MAB and etc. I think there's no perfect "100 greatest guitarist"

Yup. I agree, because there's a lot of names there I don't recognize, and a few names I think should be in there.

Well, I just looked at it again, and I'm glad I at least saw Tony Macalpine's name in there. I think he is a very underrated guitarist. Along with Frank Black.

Re: What the 100 greatest guitarist should have looked like

Mmmmm, no i don't like it. These lists are pointless, you don't mesaure how good a guitarist is, each and one of them are unique in their own way and it's impossible to say that one is better than the other.

Correction from the list: Satriani was never in Rainbow, he was temporarily in Deep Purple for a tour.

Re: What the 100 greatest guitarist should have looked like

I agree, but I guess they have to take a lot into consideration when making these lists, i.e. actual playing, sales, influence, inspirations, what else they've done, etc...

Some of those players might not have the best technique or appeal to some, but they might have really started something or influenced something.

Jimi Hendrix probably has the worst technique on that list, but he's #1.

Re: What the 100 greatest guitarist should have looked like

I understand that EVH has done more for the radio music world & influenced more guitarist than Vai. But there is no way EVH is a better guitar player than Vai. I think Vai can replicate anything EVH has done, I don't think Vai can play the Shy Boy solo.
