Where do you buy your CDs?

I don't only mean CD stores, but online stores too. I ordered the Dream Theater-Awake album from amazon about a week ago, but I'm sure some stores can do better than a week. Amazon does have good prices though. I find that Best Buy has a really overpriced collection, about $5-10 overpriced! I also don't find the CD I'm looking for half of the time. So, where do you get your CDs? Which one has the fastest shipping and cheapest price?

If you do Amazon Prime you can get everything you buy from them sent 2-day shipping. It does cost $80-something to sign up, though.

Only other place I buy CD's online is from Century Media. They're mostly metal, but they do distro for other labels so they also offer some mainstream stuff and niche genres (prog, shred, etc.). They used to be awful with shipping orders, but the last order I sent them was sent super-fast, and most of the CD's were $10 a pop.

Best Buy overpriced? I take it you havent been to an FYE or Sam Goody or any other CD store lately.

I almost exclusively buy at Best Buy, online I use amazon and the bay known as E, I've gotten a bunch of cd's off there for under $1, when you figure in shipping it may come to as much as $8, but that still isnt bad, especially for new cds.

Can't believe I forgot Rolling Stone, it's a small store in Chicago (actually Norridge) but they have an amazing selection and rediculously low prices.

Did you ever buy stuff at Crow's Nest in Down Town on Jacksonn st? it used to be in the Music plaza, I was completely heart broken when they closed down. I must have bought most of my Import and rare CDs,Videos and DVDs from them, they always had good deals, and when they went out of business they gave a lot of good stuff away! that was kind of cool but again also very sad because that is the last I ever saw of them.
Another favorite of mine was Rock Records amazing store!!! it was like a flashback into the 80's they had tons of memorabilia on every wall, I haven't been there in ages though, I think is long gone too
These days I buy my CDs from Fleabay, CDUNIVERSE and flea markets.

Amazon used, always; usually a seller named Caiman or something.

Amazon, Play, and ocasionally HMV if they have a sale on. I don't buy secondhand (at least, I haven't bought secondhand yet...).

Re: Where do you buy your CDs?

Well, I checked the tracking on Amazon and the CD is a day late of the delivery estimate. I emailed them and was told to wait until today to see if it arrives. I checked the mail today, and no CD. I emailed them again today and they told me to wait until Friday. The tracking has said "Carrier notified to pick up package" since the 26th. I'm losing respect for Amazon.
