Who here likes King Diamond?

I recently bought their latest CD, "Master of Puppets". This is my first King Diamond CD, and I love it. King's voice is amazing, probably one of my favorite singers now. The story behind the CD is pretty cool too. What do you guys think?

Hi!
Huge fan for many years.
Personal favs: Them, Conspiracy, Graveyard, Puppet Master, Abigail II, and Abigail.
Abigail and Them had Mikkee Dee playing drums- awesome

BTW- latest release is entitled, "Puppet Master"

No resemblence to the album by Larstallica.

Oh- if you like KD, have you heard Evergrey? Personal fav, would definitely be a "Desert Island 10" must have (choosing which one would suck tho)

Awesome album! Do you have any others yet?
Recreation Day (latest) is great, as well as the first two. They are recording their next one now at home in Sweden (yep, already )

Live clip from ProgPower gig they did a few months ago:
http://www.progpowerusa.com/audiovid.php
Scroll down, should be first clip listed.

They also have 2 videos they did on their site, and I have seen the video for Blinded (the one that was on MTV2) and a live video (not the greatest audio) for "Rulers of the Mind" floating around the 'net as well. They also cut a video for the song "Im Sorry," but have not seen that one yet.
(can ya tell I am a fan yet? hehehe!)

There are rumors of a live DVD being compiled for both Evergrey and King Diamond. Needless to say- I'd be pretty happy if even one happened

I tried to get into him a little in high school and HATED him. Now 12 years later I can't get enough of him! I just picked up "Puppet Master" as well and am in the middle fo listening to it. Awesome stuff! His albums are like horror movies! Gotta love his Mercyful Fate stuff, too.

Yes, I am a fan of KD. Besides KD's uniqueness, Andy LaRocque's incredible guitar playing is what attracted me to KD's music.

"Them" is a fantastic masterpiece.

Hi!
I got forced to go to a KD show at LaMour in NYC back when "Them" came out. By forced I mean- friends told me I had to go, and would have kidnapped me if I did not agree to go willingly.

I sat off to the side at the bar at the start of the show. By the second song, I was trying to get as close to Andy's side as I could, absolutely blew me away. Bought Them and Abigail the next day Always loved the cover art too. Back then, the jean jackets with album art on the back (and patches all over) were big. I always wanted a jean jacket with the Abigail cover on the back. Hehhehe... still do....

I guess part of the whole thing was growing up in an era when people went to "see" a band. Seeing shows like Floyd, Cooper, Bowie, Kiss, Maiden, Yes, etc- you got a "show" with the music. And KD had a story to tell with each album. Granted, very warped stories, but it was like taking Clive Barker, making it more warped, and putting it to music.

LaRoque and Evergrey are friends, all Evergrey's albums to date have been done at his studio (gotta love the Swedes )

After listening to "The Puppet Master" for a week straight, I can honestly say that this is probably his best work thus far. A friggin masterpiece, and I don't say that lightly. The story is creepy as hell, the songs are rock solid, and the band is tight with Mike and Andy in top form on guitar.

Yeah, I like 'em, the first album I heard was Them and later Conspiracy and Abigail. I really dig the stories. VERY cool metal guitar on all the albums of course, and damn good songwriting also, the different moods come across well.

I remember one time in H.S. my mom walked in during the middle of Abigail to tell me it was the most horrible music she had ever heard and sounded like something straight from hell LOL!!! So I turned it up even louder!! It was a funny moment....

Is "listening to Meshuggah" what you call it?
