Who is your favorite CLASSIC ROCK band and why..

I would have to say mine would be Rush..

I just love how Alex can make things sound so fricking huge and hes one of the under rated guitarists out there. Never gets as much credit as he should.

Geddy - Besides being one hell of a bass player hes also very good on keyboards and doing all this while singing too.. His bass tone is easily one of my favorites

This band is just incredible in my eyes.. And will always be one of my favorites ever..

Bad Company (you can't beat Paul Rodger's vocals, IMO; simply amazing)

and

Captain Beyond (highly overlooked 70's prog rock/metal band, almost like Dream Theater with a more classic rock sound)

The YardBirds-any band that had Clapton, Beck AND Page (the last two at the same time) has to be up their
Black Sabbath-started the HEAVY
Led Zeppelin-raised the bar for production, sound, the riffs, influenced everyone since
Hendrix-No Hendrix, no Via...compare some time..Although some of Jimi's tricks (feedback, fuzz tone) were inspired from some of Jeff Beck's shows with the yardbirds
Jeff Beck-Blow by Blow and Wired are the PAW of their time

Pink Floyd- I am a big floyd fan, all era's of their career. I really like the older material with Syd. I really like Dave's guitar sound and style and is a great influence on me. I like Roger's vocals and writing ability as well as Wright's keyboards and effects.Nick Mason is a solid, pocket drummer and plays minimal beats but fit the music perfectly.

Second would be Zeppelin
