Funny that the first response would be right in order with my opinion too.
Mr. Bulsara , aka Freddie Mercury would have been 57 a few days ago on Sept. 5th.
I have no doubt that many good if not great singers will come in the years to come.... but there will never be another Freddie Mercury.

I thought about this for a few minutes and while my favorites include
Bruce Dickinson
, Matt Barlow, David Coverdale, Ronnie James Dio, and Geoff Tate, I would have to say my FAVORITE is Kip Winger. Amazing voice. Makes ANY song good. Every damn song that he has EVER sung on is just amazing to me.

I totally agree with this. He was and always will be the greatest singer and showman that the music business has ever produced.
I was lucky enough to see Queen live on stage three times and they were so far ahead of any other live band ever.

I've always liked Ed Kowalczyk from LIVE. His voice has matured nicely since their first album- great soul, great range, etc.
I'm a Kip Winger fan as well...the guy has a great voice, and seeing his solo acoustic set on the "Rock Never Stops" tour was a treat!
Addition: Forgot Maynard from TOOL! One of my all-time favs.
(I'm probably leaving a bunch of others out as well, but...that's to be expected)

I'm really fond of Ville Valo's (from HIM) voice! Far from the technically best, though really heartbreaking
And, well, of course Freddie Mercury

Mike Patton, hands down, followed by Chino Moreno, Daryl Palumbo, and Brandon Boyd.

In all seriousness, I adore
Dave Lee Roth
. Nobody but nobody sounds like him, with his fine blend of hip-hopping around and deep All-American growl. As an Englishman, I love the difference between his accent and mine! I mean, just listen to the divine madness of Big Trouble compared to the "don't mess me with" vocal on Mean Streets. A constant delight.
Also: Marvin ***e, 'cause he's as smooth as they get.
Robert Plant
, for doing high stuff and getting away with it.
John Lennon, Paul McCartney for a million and one reasons.
Neil Finn's voice is pretty damn gorgeous too.
Ack, far too many to list here. Good topic.
