Hendrix was adding slaps, vibrato, whammy, using the flesh of his arm and so forth to achieve something no one else dared! Did he use major or minor scales??? No, but re-read your last sentence.... That definition wasn't mine. Mine's simply a musician with technical mastery of their instrument. Thats what most dictionaries I've checked have said, thats what I go with.

Ok, to bring this back on topic, I think that many people do base their opinion of Yngwie's music purely on his attitude to me seems purely ridiculous.

I don't base my opinion of his music purely on his attitude. There are a lot of A-hole musos out there whos music I totally dig. (60's term.....I'm not that old

) It's the boring "REPETITION" that I can't stand.

Do something else Yng....mix it up a bit with you solos.

I'll always respect Yng for his musical abilities and what he's done, but I'll never respect him for the person he is

hate is a silly word here but it's safe to say he's disliked among guitarists because he introduced a certain style of neo-classical w@nkery which was over imitated and this was done in a manner which was alot less musical than the guys he copied to a T (uli and ritchie).

lets face facts, he's a one album wonder with a bad attitude toward fellow musicians and bandmates... glen

I don't even like him all that much, but he's at least a two album wonder, Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar is damn good.

That's exactly it. Nor do I hold my views on him based on his attitude, I just don't like the repetition either. I used to like a couple of instrumental tracks back in the 80's, I went to see him live during his days with Joe Lynn Turner, but at the end of the day his music bores me. I don't care what kind of a person he is.
