Yngwie and Schecter?

I had recently read something on Yngwie's website that he was working with Schecter guitars and they were making a special guitar for him. I checked around on the Schecter site and saw no mention of this. Does anyone know anything about this. Yngwie made mention that he also endorses Schecter.

Yeah, that's the blurb I read,, thus my question. Has anyone heard anything on it beyond his website? I didn't realize it was such an old article.

He was pictured with Schecter strats waaay back in the mid-'80s, but this was long before his Fender signature model. I don't think it's of any significance now.

He had a Schecter signature guitar, and he also endorsed Aria Pro guitars, way back in the early 80's. Both were only business deals, that his manager set up, for publicity. He never actually used them.

An Yngwie Schecter was sold on Ebay last year, in metallica blue. It had a rosewood board that was scalloped (obviously) and DiMarzio pickups. It was a really nice guitar actually. The seller said that it was a guitar that was made for Yngwieby Schecter . This may or may not be true however.

It may have just been a Schecter Strat, that had the mods done to it. But I havent seen too many of those Schecter Strats since to be honest, not like that one I saw - it was rather gorgeous. So it may have been made for Yngwie. It certainly looked like it to me anyways!

Right on,,,now that I see the ads I remember seeing those years ago. I guess I need to pay closer attention to the posted dates on articles.
That Alcatraz pic is funny. The dude standing in back looks like red haired dude from that 70's show.

I remember him playing some kind of Flying V in the "Island In The Sun" video with Alcatrazz. Anyone know what that was?

It's also really weird to see him without bangs! He actually has a forehead under there! Amazing!

I don't know if it's THE same one or not, but a few times I've seen pictures of Yngwie's Gibson V, where the humbuckers have been removed and replaced with strat-style pickups and controls and, of course, has a scalloped fret board. And it has a tremolo.

That's probably it. Kinda reminded me of a James Byrd guitar.
