Yngwie Malmsteen DVD

Just bought an Yngwie Malmsteen DVD. I shouldn't have .

I hadn't heard any of his stuff, so I went to buy Rising Force at the store, they didn't have it in. But I saw this live DVD and thought, hey I'll never get to see him live in Australia, so why the hell not.

Bad idea....

Production and sound mix was awful! Could barely hear the guitar. What's the point of that? The liner notes mention that Yngwie was the producer/co-producer. Ughh...

He's fat too. People that are fat shouldn't flaunt their tummy's and wear skin tight leather pants. He looked like a comedian making fun of C.C. Deville.

Yngwie's cliched moves!! hehe they're good for a laugh. That stupid kick.. OMG... He threw his guitar over his shoulder maybe 60 times during the concert, and each time he threw a pick out to the crowd.

But for the record he can play very fast, and has some cool classical type licks. They just seemed to be regurgitated a little bit in every song.

IMO the biggest waste of money I've had in a while.

wil..

ps..just my opinion. also, little peeved that I bought the f'ing thing.

Fat guys in skin tight pants...too funny. It's maybe the only thing worse than one of those "might as well be attached with a chinstrap" toupes.

Yngwie is a character, I'll give him that

I presume the vid you're referring to is Live In Brasil.

Yeah I bought that - I thought it was a comedy ;-)

The playing's great even if Yng's become his own cliche.

You think he's fat there - I saw him earlier this year in London and it's like a weather balloon in leather.

Yngwie Malmsteen - 'the glutton of guitar' perhaps

Dont make jokes about Yngwies "signature moves". My personal fave is his "round mouth" move. Hilarious.

Is that with his mouth or his whole body ;-) ?

Personally I enjoy 'The Point' - oh yeah, he got you that time, that lick meant something!! (usually done in conjunction with 'round mouth')

Has anyone seen the very strange 'Yngwie at home' video - I had it but lost it a couple of months ago.

It's a day in the life of Yngwie with him being followed around by someone with a video camera - no commentary or anything - very odd

Boy, I just can't wait for the G3 tour now. At least my expectations are so low that if he doesn't suck I'll be pleased.

it won't suck.

Trust because malmsteen is a shredder with old school performance, doesn't mean he's lacking.

He's one of the greatest that has ever lived, and there is NO question about it.

yngwie rocks.
what he does is better than all of the mainstream musicians and yet u still find ways to criticize him. come on...focus on the music and on the playing. he's a great guitarist regardless of his weight which is entirely irrelevant if u think about it. please guys, the man deserves respect, even if u dont like his attitude, his skills are abnormal to say the least.
rock on yngwie.

and yes i prefer yngwie takes second place after steve vai any day.

Cheers
