Yngwie seems to be a difficult man. Just like many other artists.
As long as i like his music though, i couldn't care less.

Thanks for the review!
Whether you like him or hate him - Yngwie is one of the TRUE living legends of guitar.
He has stayed true to his style of music and has stayed in the limelight for over 20 years.
FYI- he really is a great guy.

Sorry but I disagree.
You can stay true to your music but still incorporate or add different sounds, cultures, instruments whatever to your music.
Malmsteen is playing the same stuff since 80's,he's stucked in himself. If it's good to him that's ok but I was listening to him in the 80's and I can't stand his music anymore.
Satch is always adding stuff to his music, every new album is a surprise, not that I care cause I only like The Extremist album but I'm using Satch as an example of how to stay true to your music but not playing the same stuff for about 30 years.
Vai is another good example.
You never know what expect from those guys still they're true to their music.

You're of course entitled to your own views, but the fact remains that Yngwie is still quite popular and selling records and touring. In the tough world of professional music he is one of the few who have made a decent living for decades and continues to do so.
And just to shot holes in your hypothisis~~ David Gilmour, Def Leppard and ACDC haven't changed a thing in their music in 20-30 years either and they are still doing great. At this moment ACDC's new album is #1 in the USA and it might as well be the Black In Black album from a writing standpoint.
I'm jus sayin...

Re: Yngwie Malmsteen Show Review (10/29/08, The Cannery, Nashville)
I said you can stay true to your music without having to play always the same stuff.
If people likes them doing that,I don't.
In the 80's pink floyd was my favorite band,I played in pink floyd cover then one day I realized how boring they were playing the same stuff, expecially gilmour who only plays pentatonics,I had magazines with gilmour interviews saying that.
I can't listen to a guitarist who only plays the same pentatonics boxes, expecially through decades.
So I had to move on and Pink Floyd TO ME is just memories.
I never said they aren't doing great,I said I don't like to hear the same stuff year after year,it's too boring.
You know everybody have their own ears and mine need fresh music all the time or at least musicians who always surprise me.
He's doing great but not to me.
